My ink drawings are based on personal anecdotes, superstitions, mythological stories, intertwined into imaginary 16th century anatomical drawings.
When I was a little girl my grand aunts lived in a dark house in a small town. They always warned me not to swallow the seeds of grapes; if I did a tree would grow inside of me. When I realized that I had inadvertently swallowed one of the seeds, I decided I wouldn’t tell them in the hope that nothing would happen. But of course I was terrified, I could already feel the seed growing inside of me.
